6 Cool Things

It may seem unbelievable that Christmas is just around the corner and my email inbox is has been crammed with a pile of fall releases, inventory re-stocks, and new product news releases.
I figured that I'd share a few highlights of things that I have or would like to have and also a heads up that there are a few affiliate links in the mix which pad the T.F.M. piggy bank.  Thanks for clicking through and making a purchase if so inclined.

I am a longtime fan of Filson bags and luggage and the new limited edition Dark Wax Shrub Camo pieces have me debating on adding the Waxed Rugged Twill Duffle to my stash.  The Waxed Rugged Twill Original Briefcase and Waxed Rugged Twill Tote Bag with Zipper are both also lookers.

The Marsh Wear Fall Collection just dropped online and a real highlight is the Delano Shacket which is offered in two colorways.  This is an easy piece to dress up or down and the brass buttons with mallard camo lining are nice touches.   Keep an eye on Marsh Wear as they are on the come up.

The folks at Patagonia went back to the drawing board with their fly fishing packs and recently have released the Stealth Sling, Stealth Hip Pack, Stealth Work Station with the 30L Stealth Pack coming later on that are built with 100% recycled nylon and polyester fabrics.  There is also a redesign and update of the much loved Great Divider 26L gear bag that I'd like to get my hands on once they are restocked.

Our kitchen kit is already heavy on Smithey cast iron and carbon steel but the new carbon steel wok will likely be added soon as we're doing a lot of cooking that it would be perfect for.  Make sure you take a few minutes to check out the recent Eater film on how these are made.

Supply chain challenges, along with incredible demand, has had the Turtlebox Audio speakers unavailable for a bit but a huge re-stock has the 2021 upgraded speakers available in all colors right now.  If you've been considering one for yourself or gifting to someone else this Christmas, I wouldn't delay in ordering now or picking up at your local dealer.  It's always likely they could get scarce again and for good damn reason, they bring the noise.  One (or even two) are perfect at home, camp, beach, or your tailgate.

I like good ideas and even better when those ideas are "Made in U.S.A.". The folks at Yakoda keep coming up with new and interesting pieces that solve fly fishing gear needs.  The Sidekick is one of their latest releases and can be worn on your waders, belt, pack, or used on it's own.  Available in several colorways and full of features for the minimalist that just needs the necessities all in one place.

What's on your "Must Have" gear list right now?  Send an email to let me know and it might end up in a future installment of '6 Cool Things'.
