NORTH FORK COMPOSITES - All Purpose Fast Glass Blanks

One of my New Year's resolutions for 2021 was to fish more fiberglass spinning rods and I'm not embarrassed to say that I had more fun than I anticipated in doing it, especially on our family pond.  Relearning how to fish Zoom worms and surface lures, after not really fishing conventional for over 20 years, made the experience new again.  And, I like learning new things.

 

I've been much more keyed in on what's out there regarding fiberglass when it comes to spinning blanks and the new North Fork Composites All Purpose Fast Glass  APFG786-1 blank has me excited to get one built up.  More on that later...

The All Purpose Fast Glass one-piece spinning or bait casting rod blanks are made of AGY Zentron S2 glass, available in four color choices, and the six blanks offered they are line rated from 2 to 30 pounds.  

The All Purpose Fast Glass is offered in the following lengths, line, and lure ratings:

Length 7'1"        Line Rated: 2-6 Pounds                Lure Rating: 1/16 - 3/8 Ounce

Length 7'4"        Line Rated: 6-12 Pounds              Lure Rating: 1/8 - 1/2 Ounce  

Length 7'4"        Line Rated: 8-15 Pounds              Lure Rating: 1/8 - 5/8 Ounce

Length 7'4"        Line Rated: 10-17 Pounds            Lure Rating: 1/8 - 3/4 Ounce

Length 7'8"        Line Rated: 12-20 Pounds            Lure Rating: 1/4 - 1 Ounce

Length 7'8"        Line Rated: 15-30 Pounds            Lure Rating: 1/4 - 3 Ounces

The only thing that I both like and don't like is that it is a one-piece blank which could make it tough to travel with though there are some advantages strength wise in not having ferrules to do with.
