This morning while answering a few emails from recent listeners of the Orvis Fly Fishing Podcast on fiberglass fly rods with Tom Rosenbauer, I was going through the Fiberglass Fly Rod Makers list and clicked on Diamondback Fly Rod Company to find what I'm calling the "Deal of the Day".
In the meantime, all "old stock" is on fire sale and the Meeker Glass
fly rods are price slashed to $126. This is a steal as these are
really a well made fly rod that comes with a cloth rod sock and housed
in a shiny black fiberglass tube. This is a lot of fly rod for the
money.
Sadly, at the time of this post only the 5-weight and 6-weight are still available.
Read what the Diamondback Fly Rod Company says about these fly rods and think dry flies and accuracy over hucking streamers or double nymph rigs.
"Constructed from super strong E-Glass prepreg and designed with tapers
that create a crisp soft action and smooth recovery, the MEEKER and its
slow action allows for the most delicate presentations and ultimate
sensitivity when targeting a variety of species. This rod is supple and
accurate for the perfect dry fly presentation, but also has enough
backbone to cast small wet flies and nymphs."

The website doesn't indicate how many pieces the Meeker rods are. Do you know? Thanks!
The Meeker rods are terrific value even at full price. They are a steal at these prices. I just picked up a 5wt made from Diamondback blank and finished by a really talented hobby builder courtesy of the Fiberglass Flyrodders Forum sales page. The 5wt is a 8’ 3pc. I have the 6’6” 2wt that is 2pc.
Dan, I believe they are three-piece fly rods throughout the series.
Dave, I totally agree. They were a great value at full price and a steal at this price.
