A few weeks ago I tipped everyone off (LINK) that artist Bob White had an autographed stack of the latest John Gierach book, "All the Time in the World", and that he was offering an original pencil sketch of your favorite fly to make the copy that much more special.
When Bob reached out to ask what fly that I would like, I asked that he do one of his favorite hairbug fly for smallmouth. He immediately answered back that his was the Wilderdilch which wasn't a pattern that I was familiar with but by the looks of it, should be.
I asked if he'd step-by-step chronicle the pencil sketch and fortunately, he obliged. I hope you get as much of a kick out of it as I do. Thanks, Bob...
