When Things Slow Down Around Here...

When things slow down around here it doesn't mean that I'm not thinking about T.F.M. but more so it means that life is zooming way too fast to keep up.  The past several weeks have been busier than normal since Finn's varsity golf season was winding down.  Along with afternoon practices, they played a regional tournament, lower state tournament, and then last week, the 3A State Championship that was held at the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University.  This meant a five day weekend  to practice, rest, and then play the two-day tournament along with fifteen other teams from throughout South Carolina.

Finn is finishing his freshman year and this is the third year that he's played school golf.  It's been a great experience and his game continues to get better.  This season we've seen his scores really start to go low with shooting a 70 at his first tournament, being in the low to mid 70's several times through the season, and at the state championship having a day one score of 73 and a day two score of 79 after heavy storms and a two hour break, which admittedly added a few strokes getting back in the groove when play resumed.  He did finish on 18 with a 70+ foot putt that dropped for birdie on a tricky green that I'm kicking myself for not having a video of.

In the end, Gilbert Indians Golf took 3rd Place and Finn was named an All Star for finishing in the top ten of individual scores.  We could not be prouder of all his hard work and stoked to see the progress he's made over the past several years.  I wish my game was even half of what his is.

So, I'm back to telling stories here and have so much to talk about.  Here we go again...
