Tightloop Fly Rods Steffen 6/7 Weight

Lately I've been fielding quite a few emails asking about fiberglass fly rod options in the heavier line weights such as six weight and above. Some of the very best blanks out there right now are made by Steffen Brothers.  I can attest to both his 6/7 weight and 8/9 weight blanks as being most excellent and I have an order in now for a 9/10 weight blank when Mark Steffen can get it rolled up.

Recently George Minculete of Tightloop Fly Rods completed an 8'6" 6/7 weight build and I thought I would share a few before and after photos to highlight how much of a change there is in the thread wraps once they are hit with a couple coats of varnish.  George does some of the cleanest thread work I've ever seen and his builds are nothing short of stunning.

Wow. Sick dude. Thanks for the before and after. I thought before looked sweet, but the after is coveted. Looks like I'm gonna have to start saving up again.

hawkbird...start saving. You need one...well...really several of these. Mark Steffen makes a great blank.

Cam, I only have 1 picture of my friend with a nice hen on the line. We were up in mid Nov. and there were not many fish caught by anybody I saw.
