6 Good Reads

I kinda can't believe it's already Friday and next week this time I'll be in Missoula, Montana for a few days of sitting in the backseat of a raft (and hopefully a few skwala) therapy.  So much to do between now and then at home and at work.  Enjoy this six-pack of online articles to start your weekend.

TROUTS FLY FISHING - Q&A WITH CAPTAIN ADDUCI
Last summer, Kyle Wilkinson of Trouts Fly Fishing was part of our group to Beaver Island and spent quite a bit of time with Captain Austin Adduci of Grab Your Fly Charters.  Austin is a good dude and a lot of fun to be on the water with.  This interview gives a solid background on what makes him tick as a guide and angler.

MIDCURRENT - ANOTHER FINE READ FROM MR. HAZELTON
Tom Hazelton of Voyageur Pursuits sure knows how to capture the moment with the written word.

MARSHFLY - TIPS ON BEING A GOOD SKIFF GUEST
Damn, I am so guilty on Tip #2 and I am really trying to be much better about it.  I guess I don't need to bring the largest of large gear bags and six fly rods when fishing with guide friends.

That said, I already have nine fly rods set aside for the trip to Montana next week...

GINK & GASOLINE - NOT SO SECRET GLASS GEEKS
I don't know if you've noticed lately but the fellows at Gink & Gasoline have sure been sprinkling in some great fiberglass fly rod content on the blog.  Louis digs the Scott F2 (among other glass) and Justin is down with the Eagle Claw Featherlight HERE and HERE.

There's nothing wrong with being a "Glass Geek".  Absolutely nothing.  Some of us are proud of it, in fact.

FIELD & STREAM - CLICKERS FOR THE PEOPLE
Joe Cermele gives a quick tutorial on click and pawl fly reels on the cheap.  eBay and saved searches are your friend, along with a good clean and lube kit to bring your new favorite fly reel back to life.

Need some suggestions on what to look for?  This 20 page thread on Fiberglass Flyrodders is a good primer.

FORBES - Q&A WITH MR. BTT - AARON ADAMS
Thank goodness for Monte Burke for continuing to highlight some of the most interesting and active players in the fly fishing industry and conservation.  This interview with Aaron Adams should have all of us signing up for Bonefish & Tarpon Trust memberships to support what he has going on.

Okay, off to work.  Enjoy your Friday and hopefully get outside this weekend.
