Wyoming Cutt-Slam Conclave

One of the first things that my wife and I do begin every January is to compare calendars and work out our planned trip lists.  There are family trips, work trips, T.F.M. trips, her trips (which honestly are too seldom and she deserves to be gone more) and then I get away on my own a few times a year with fly fishing friends.

One trip that is on my August schedule is to attend the Wyoming Cutt Slam Conclave which is being organized by Dusty Smith of Livingston Rod Co. and Chris Barclay of C. Barclay Fly Rod Co. with the support from Pioneer Anglers in Alpine, Wyoming.  The conclave dates are August 20th to 23rd and this long weekend event should be a really great time.

The fellows are keeping it low drag and this conclave is very much focused on fly fishing throughout the area than days spent at the shop.  There will be some events planned through the weekend that will likely occur on Friday and Saturday evenings.  Otherwise those who are interested can pursue the challenge of the Wyoming Cutt-Slam in catching the Yellowstone, Snake River, Colorado River and Bonneville Cutthroats in their native waters. Or book a trip through the shop to fish some of the notable nearby rivers with a guide.  Your call.

There is an ongoing thread on the Fiberglass Flyrodders forum to follow on this and look for more information in the coming weeks and months.
