A Stop In At Lowcountry Fly Shop

While in Isle of Palms this past weekend I was able to sneak out of the house for a couple hours while everyone napped to check out Lowcountry Fly Shop in Mt. Pleasant.

I had met the shop fellows at the Fly Fishing Film Tour stop in Charleston and then again at IFTD in New Orleans and with invites to come fly fishing with them (certainly taking pity on my still redfishless record) I figured it would be good to stop in and see the new shop.

Lowcountry Fly Shop is located just across the bridge from Charleston on West Coleman Boulevard and though the strip mall location might give the exterior somewhat of a plain look, the inside of the shop is well done with gear from a lot of excellent companies and artwork by Paul Puckett displayed on the walls.

Lowcountry Fly Shop makes good use of space with a mix of everything that you'd expect and concentrates on the salt side of things due to their proximity to redfish and a mix of other inshore species just minutes from the shop.

If and when you're in the Charleston, South Carolina area looking for a fly shop for gear or advice or to schedule a guide trip, give Lowcountry Fly Shop a look.

The Lowcountry Fly Shop website is in the works but follow along on their Facebook page or call the shop with questions at 843-388-5337.
